“The English” is a beautifully composed and uniquely told western that is worth watching. The series is sure to captivate you thanks to Hugo Blick’s unique storytelling and near-poetic dialogue, as well as the breathtaking cinematography and some stills that are works of art in their own right. Emilia Blunt and Chaske Spencer do a fantastic job of bringing genuine warmth to their roles and developing convincing chemistry with one another on screen. Mad Maxine goes Back to the Future Part III to fight the racist misogynist white patriarchy with her new-found friend, Indian cavalry scout Denzel Washington, and (involuntary) hilarity ensues.
