Overview
Joan of Arc is born in 1412 in the village of Domrémy in the war zone of Northern France. During her youth she often witnesses the horrors of war, but her spirit is kept high by the legend of the Maiden of Lorraine. This says that a young maiden one day will unite the divided country and lead the people to freedom.

7.0_**Well done biopic of an amazing young woman**_ Born to a peasant family in northeastern France during the Hundred Years’ War with England, Joan (Leelee Sobieski) hears the voices of saints instructing her to help the Dauphin Charles (Neil Patrick Harris) claim the French kingship and drive out the Brits. Charles persuades Joan to declare herself the prophesied Maid of Lorraine and inspire an army against the invaders.
