Olavo Neto is a brazilian filmmaker, producer, video editor and screenwritter. With a degree in Cinema and Audiovisual from the Federal University of Mato Grosso, he works in audiovisual media since 2019. Olavo gained prominence with "The Untamed Uprising of the Killer Strawberries" (2022), a short film that was screened and awarded internationally. He has primarily worked as a producer, director of photography, and video editor on other film productions, documentaries, and music videos. Also worked for major production companies, public institutions, and also as a freelancer. His films are generally genre stories that feature acerbic humor, colorful and profound characters, auteur cinematography, and original plots. Generally with a low budget and a high audience acceptance through festivals and screenings. Olavo written and directed five short films to date. He debuted with "Chimeric Desire to Belong to Another World" (2020), chosen as "Best Very Short Short Film" at the 19th Latin American University and Independent Audiovisual Exhibition. It was the only film made without public financial resources.
