Biography

Sotiris Petrides is an independent filmmaker, with fifteen short films, one feature film and selected audiovisual commercials to his credit. He is a member of the Hellenic Film Academy, a member of the European Film Academy, a member of the Greek Directors Association and a member of the Greek Screenwriters Association. More specifically, his filmography includes award-winning short films such as Balloon (2013), e-Social (2015) White Collar (2016), #NotAlone (2017), 9023 (2017), Re-Live (2019), Sad Girl Weekend (2019) and the feature film Scopophilia (2018). His films have traveled to over 40 countries and 300 International Festivals, winning dozens of awards. Among the festivals his films have traveled to are the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, the Drama International Short Film Festival, the Athens International Film Festival - Premiere Nights, the Vienna Shorts, the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, the Izmir International Short Film Festival, the Comic-Con International, the Sarajevo Film Festival, the Washington West International Film Festival, the Leiden Shorts, the Festival Internacional de Cine de Lebu and the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival - several of which are recognized as Oscar Qualified by the American Film Academy.
