Overview

After discovering that she has only a short time left to live, concert pianist Lissa travels to Cornwall for the final fling of her life. While there, she falls in love with young mineral prospector Kit, a man whose dark secret prevents him from fighting in the War. Unbeknownst to Lissa, however, Kit's affections are also much in demand from a rival of hers.

Margaret Lockwood is really quite effective in this film as accomplished pianist "Lissa/Felicity" who discovers that she has a life-limiting illness. She decides to spend what time she has left in a remote rural village where she encounters the dashing "Kit" (Stewart Granger), an RAF pilot affected by gradual blindness after an encounter with an WWII bomb. The romance now gently unfolds, with both afraid to commit for fear their impending future will be a burden on the other. There are a couple of characterful sub-plots as "Kit" searches for molybdenum amongst the local rocks and has to rescue…
